Custom Flashings Made in Newcastle for Non-Standard Roofs

Standard flashings cover most new box profile roofs. Plenty of Northern buildings are not standard. Odd pitches on older mills, stepped abutments, plant decks, and barn conversions all need metalwork cut to the job. That is what our custom and bespoke flashings are for.

When to order bespoke instead of forcing a stock piece

• The ridge angle is not close to our stock 130° profile
• An abutment needs a different upstand or sole length
• A verge detail needs a return or welt that a plain 90° barge does not give you
• You are matching an existing flashing on a repair and the old section is non-standard
• The architect or engineer has drawn a specific throat or cover width

Forcing a stock flashing into the wrong angle leaves gaps. Those gaps show up as leaks once winter weather hits Yorkshire and the Pennines.

What we need from you

A dimensioned sketch is enough for most jobs. Include angles, wing lengths, material finish and colour if it must match existing sheets. Photos of the junction help. Templates from site work well for awkward abutments. We fabricate from our workshop in Throckley, Newcastle upon Tyne, and deliver across the North East, Yorkshire, the North West and surrounding counties.

Stock flashings still cover most day-to-day work

Before you assume you need bespoke, check whether a stock piece already fits:

• 130° ridge flashings
• 90° corner barge
• 90° upstand abutment
• Drip tray flashings

Many jobs use stock lengths for the main run and a short bespoke piece only where the geometry changes.

Seal and fix the custom piece the same way

Bespoke metal still needs proper laps, butyl tape, foam fillers where the profile demands them, and TEK screws with washers. See our accessories for the same tapes, fillers and caps we send out with standard orders.
